This Privacy Policy explains how Permit IQ handles information when you use the app, including state selection, study progress, practice activity, subscriptions, and support.

1. Information Permit IQ May Process

Permit IQ is designed to provide permit-test preparation, state-specific study guidance, practice tests, readiness feedback, and related learning features.

  • Selected testing state: used to personalize state-specific study content and guidance.
  • Study and test activity: such as completed lessons, practice answers, mock-test results, weak areas, and readiness progress.
  • App settings: such as onboarding status and preferences saved on your device.
  • Purchase and entitlement status: information necessary to determine whether premium access is active.
  • Support information: information you voluntarily provide if you contact support.

2. How Information Is Used

Information may be used to:

  • personalize Permit IQ for the state where you plan to test;
  • save and display your progress;
  • identify weak areas and provide Readiness IQ recommendations;
  • operate practice tests, mock tests, and future learning simulations;
  • verify subscription or purchase access;
  • respond to support requests;
  • maintain, troubleshoot, and improve the app.

3. Information Stored on Your Device

Certain Permit IQ information may be stored locally on your device using Apple-supported storage technologies. This may include your selected state, onboarding status, learning progress, test history, and other app preferences.

Local-first where practical Permit IQ may keep learning and preference data on-device when remote storage is not required for a feature to function.

4. Purchases and Subscriptions

Purchases and subscriptions made through the Permit IQ iOS app are processed by Apple. Permit IQ does not receive or store your full payment-card information.

Apple may provide transaction or entitlement information needed to confirm access to paid features. Apple’s handling of payment information is governed by Apple’s own privacy practices.

5. State-Specific Content

Your selected state may be used to provide relevant permit-test preparation and state-specific driving guidance. Permit IQ may reference official state driver manuals or testing guidance when creating or presenting state-aware educational content.

Permit IQ is an independent educational tool and is not affiliated with or endorsed by any state DMV, licensing agency, testing authority, or government entity.

6. Analytics and Diagnostics

Permit IQ may use limited analytics or diagnostic information to understand app performance, crashes, feature usage, and product reliability.

Any analytics implementation should be limited to information reasonably necessary to operate and improve Permit IQ and should not be used to sell personal information.

7. Third-Party Services

Permit IQ may rely on third-party services where necessary for app distribution, purchases, support, hosting, analytics, or other operational functions.

  • Apple App Store and StoreKit for distribution and purchases;
  • Drip IQ or related web infrastructure for Permit IQ support and privacy pages;
  • other service providers added in the future where required to operate app features.

Third-party services may process information according to their own privacy policies.

8. Information Sharing

Permit IQ does not sell your personal information.

Information may be shared with service providers only when reasonably necessary to operate, secure, support, or improve the app, comply with legal obligations, or protect users and the service.

9. Children and Teen Users

Permit IQ may be used by teenagers preparing for a learner’s permit. Users should use the app in accordance with applicable age requirements and any parental or guardian requirements that apply in their jurisdiction.

Permit IQ is not intended to knowingly collect unnecessary personal information from children.

10. Data Retention

Information is retained only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy, unless a longer retention period is required by law or necessary for fraud prevention, security, purchase records, or legal compliance.

11. Your Choices

Depending on how Permit IQ features are implemented, you may be able to manage or reset certain app data directly on your device, change your selected testing state, restore purchases, or contact support regarding privacy questions.

Deleting Permit IQ from your device may remove locally stored app data, subject to Apple platform behavior and any information retained by third-party services or required for legal or transaction records.

12. Security

Reasonable technical and organizational safeguards are used to protect information handled by Permit IQ. No electronic storage or transmission system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

13. Changes to This Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated as Permit IQ evolves, new features are added, or legal and platform requirements change. The effective date at the top of this page will be updated when material changes are made.
